Position summary
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing strategic projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
About the job
As an Engineering Manager, you will work with a team of software engineers to continue to land features and increase membership. You will collaborate with Program and Product Management teams and maintain relationships with our partners in other product areas. You will also iterate on the team's organizational structure, setting it up for continued scalability.
Responsibilities
- Design, guide, and vet system designs within the scope of the broader area, and write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
- Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards.
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Collaborate with Android and iOS engineers to land the mobile versions of their features.
