Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript)

• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing projects

• 2 years of experience in a people management or supervision/team leadership role

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field
• 3 years of experience working in a complex matrixed organization
• Experience working with payments systems

As the Engineering Manager, you will work with a large number of products at Google, better understand how Google actually makes money, and drive end-to-end features across a full vertical technical stack (e.g., UI, API, storage).

Additional Information
(Colorado only*) Minimum Salary of $198,000 - $212,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
*Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation range for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Work with Product Managers, User Experience, and other Engineering leads to define the goal, strategy, and roadmap for the core Payments initiatives.
• Own and drive large complex initiatives across Payments teams and potentially across Product Areas.
• Lead Engineering teams in full vertical stack design, implementation, and launch/experimentation/optimization.
• Coach and mentor Engineers to realize their potential and to effectively pursue organizational goals.
• Be able to foster team culture that focuses on Enginerring/Product/Operation excellence.
