mpossible. Quantum AI is building novel systems that can leverage quantum mechanics to outperform the world's largest computers at certain classes of problems. The Scalable Hardware group within Quantum AI is responsible for developing the hardware needed to support our roadmap including cryogenic systems, wiring and interconnects, and electronics.
As the Scalable Cryogenic Systems Hardware Engineering Manager, you will align scalable cryogenic technologies to the Quantum AI roadmap, establishing robust R&D efforts where necessary. You will manage our team of cryogenic engineers and researchers, and develop strong connections with internal groups to understand cryogenic roadmap needs, including new research challenges and unique cryogenic requirements derived from quantum computer architectures. In this role, you will participate in the development of Quantum computer architectures by including cryogenic constraints and tradespace knowledge. You will work closely with multiple key vendors, partners, and collaborators for development and production, ensuring timeliness, performance and cost effectiveness.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities
Work with the Scalable Hardware leads and QuantumAI leadership, take ownership of the long-term cryogenic systems strategy aligned with the teams mission to create valuable fault tolerant quantum computers.
Translate Quantum computer architectural requirements to cryogenic system requirements.
Create and lead R&D efforts in cryogenics to address fundamental questions.
Manage the Scalable Cryogenics team.
Develop relationships and manage vendor partnerships to maximize project velocity, technology performance, and cost effectiveness.
