Hardware Operations Cost Manager, Devices and Services

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 10 years of experience in supply chain operations, financial planning and analysis, management consulting, or a similar environment.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working with supply chains, contract manufacturers, and in consumer hardware.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, and to drive complex operational initiatives with excellent business partnering skills.
• Ability to be comfortable with ambiguity in a constantly evolving environment with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to articulate clearly, data driven recommendations with excellent business sense and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

As a Hardware Operations Cost Manager, you will act as the bridge between being deeply analytical and delivering easily digestible and actionable insight to leadership and cross-functional teams. You will identify opportunities and risks, and ensure that our costs are being optimized. You will be responsible for clearly communicating status, trajectory, and goals to all internal stakeholders.

Additional Information
(Colorado only*) Minimum full-time salary range between $142,000 - $152,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. *Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an Operations Cost Manager (OCM) lead for all non-bill of material (BOM) related costs for assigned products.
• Drive actionable analysis and provide recommendations for cost reduction opportunities, investment prioritization, and efficiency improvements.
• Partner closely with Finance teams, including Supply Chain, Finance, and Accounting to ensure Google’s accounting, compliance, and other financial requirements are supported.
• Oversee the development and tracking of accurate driver level cost models, from concept to design stages and through the entire product lifecycle.
• Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership.
