Multiphysics Analyst, Design Engineer

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

• 3 years of experience in the field of multiphysics/structural analysis.

• Experience with engineering and physics-based first principles as well as mechanical properties of different types of materials.

• Experience with numerical methods and tools (e.g., COMSOL, Maxwell, Abaqus, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s or PhD degree in Mechanical engineering or related discipline.

• 5 years of multiphysics/structural simulation experience in the consumer electronics industry.

• Experience in solving complex problems involving magnetic latches, thermal-mechanical failures, vibroacoustic noises, water/moisture ingression, etc.

• Experience with designing, building and testing prototypes to validate design concept and analysis results.

• Working knowledge of design tools such as NX or similar CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risk, create analysis/simulation/validation plan, brainstorm and propose solutions to problems based on analysis data, iterate through the entire product development cycle to optimize the design to achieve product performance objectives.
• Own and drive Multiphysics analyses of cutting edge designs, enabling early optimization prior to prototyping of complex mechanical problems.
• Generate simulation models of mechanical parts, modules, and assemblies. Explore the different product applications and reliability factors involving coupled physics such as Thermal-mechanical, Electromagnetics, Structural-acoustics, Fluid-structure interactions, etc.
• Build simulation models by using rigorous verification, calibration, and validation techniques and best practices leading to high-quality results.
• Drive the exploration, validation and integration of new technologies, materials, analysis methods and tools to advance and expand team capabilities.
