Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
2 years of experience in network operations, network administration, network automation, or a related role
Experience in Optical or IP network operations
Experience writing code in one or more languages such as Python, Java, Javascript
Strong understanding of network operations at scale
Broad understanding of cloud computing, Linux server environments, network design and deployment, managing large scale infrastructure
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization abilities

The Global Network Ops team runs the most reliable network, proactively monitoring and fixing issues, ensuring our users and customers are connected, our products are the most available and that we meet Google's demanding growth. As a Network Engineer in Edge Network Operations, you will work with other network engineers and technology teams in Google to identify and mitigate risks and ensure the smooth operation of core networking systems and platforms on the Google production network.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$208,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Provide high-touch operational support for GCP customers and peers
Provide customers with tier-2 support for reaching Cloud services via the peering and internet edge, including reachability and performance issues. We assist customers who escalate such issues via cloud support and/or the Google NOC
Build automation and dashboards, and lead improvements in documentation, playbooks, and training for support organizations
Support Cloud Interconnect customers post-sales through activation
Drive process improvements in peering turn-up and service delivery for Cloud customers, build workflows, automation and dashboards for long-term supportability
