Product Marketing Manager, Google Play Growth Marketing

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

• 5 years of experience in growth marketing and/or product marketing a consumer product at scale

• Experience in push marketing (e.g., email/notifications) and/or customer responsibility matrix (CRM)

• Experience partnering with product counterparts

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in identifying key pain points in the user journey
• Experience in gaming, mobile, and/or e-commerce
• Experience with creative problem solving and bias towards action
• Excellent creative, design, and copywriting/editorial skills with an understanding of how to target messaging and visuals to market and channel
• Analytical mindset with quantitative reasoning, creativity, and strategic skills
• Interest in behavioral science behind user decisions, as well as market-specific needs and nuances

Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (Google Ads, AdSense, Google Marketing Platform, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the representation of the product and help it grow a consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across Sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.

The mission of our Growth Marketing team is to create marketing programs that cultivate valuable relationships, helping users get the most out of Google Play in a fun and engaging way.

As a Product Marketing Manager, you will craft compelling narratives about Google Play. You will help users get the most out of their Google Play and Android experience, increasing product affinity and engagement. Along the way, your work helps represent Google Play.

You will build scalable programs that meet the needs of demanding super-gamers, users turning on their first mobile phones, and everyone in between. You will use data and experimentation to drive growth. You will be motivated to get things done and view obstacles as exciting challenges. You will love working collaboratively across different roles to bring great experiences to users.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Deepen our relationship with users through compelling, scalable, and relevant lifecycle content and experiences, particularly with our gamers.
• Partner with designers, writers, other Product Marketing Managers (PMMs), Product Managers (PMs), and third-party agencies to deliver great work in a resourceful environment.
• Build relationships, partnering closely with merchandising, business development (BD), consumer marketing, product management, and analytics teams to deploy targeted and impactful campaigns.
• Partner cross-functionally to assist in the conception of creative solutions for automating content sourcing and delivery in devising and executing testing strategies to improve engagement.
• Evaluate and present results of your programs, making recommendations for campaign optimization, and new areas of focus.
