Product Quality Engineer, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, other engineering or equivalent practical experience

• 5 years of experience working in hardware quality (https://i.e., manufacturing, product engineering, test engineering, quality and reliability, yield management, debugging, etc.)

• Experience working with Google Cloud hardware infrastructure systems

• Experience in data analysis and visualization

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or other relevant engineering discipline

• CRE/CQE (Certified Reliability/Quality Engineer) certification or equivalent experience

• 7 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing or Product Engineering of Google Cloud hardware technology or electronic hardware systems

• Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams using a practical and solution-oriented approach

• Experience with advanced statistical (or statistics based) methodologies (https://e.g., design of experiments, statistical process controls, six sigma, etc.)

• Experience in technical leadership, project management, and executive communication

The Manufacturing Operations team is responsible for providing the manufacturing capability to deliver this state-of-the-art physical infrastructure. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools and procedures behind Google’s powerful search technology. When vendors build parts for our infrastructure, you’re right there alongside ensuring manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. You collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google’s infrastructure needs and product specifications. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $108,000-$158,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Lead Quality Engineering for multiple high-complexity compute products, from qualification through large-scale deployment, that involve new technologies or new uses of multiple existing technologies.
• Provide technical leadership, set priorities, and drive resolution of complex technical issues for a robust product quality and predictable field deployment.
• Analyze manufacturing and field data to extract actionable insights and areas of opportunity for continuous improvement.
• Initiate, drive, and implement innovative product, process, tools development/improvement projects, separately and in a cross-functional environment.
• Monitor, review, and present product performance data and metrics to stakeholders in a concise and clear way that enables data-driven decision making.
