Research Scientist, Responsible AI and Human-Centered Technologies

Minimum qualifications:

• PhD degree in Computer Science or related discipline, including interdisciplinary work, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience publishing papers within technical and/or social science research areas.

Preferred qualifications:

• Research related to Responsible AI and/or Human-Centered AI, ML, ML+Health, AI FATE, HCI, or related interdisciplinary research topics.
• 2 or more publications in AI/ML (e.g., NeurIps, ICML, CVPR, ICLR, AAAI, ACL, EMNLP etc.), ML+Health (e.g. MLHC, CHIL, ML4H, etc.), AI FATE (e.g., FAccT, AIES, etc.), or HCI (e.g., CHI, UIST, CSCW, ASSETS, UbiComp, etc.).
• Experience with tools and techniques appropriate for the research specialty (e.g., development and/or application of ML methods, coding/prototype development, statistical analyses, qualitative research techniques, user study design and execution, etc.).
• Coding skills (eg: C++, Python, etc).

Responsible AI and Human-Centered Technologies is seeking research scientists with backgrounds in several areas, including Machine Learning, Healthcare, AI FATE (fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics), Human-Computer Interaction, and interdisciplinary work bridging from topics such as social sciences and healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Provide the short-term and long-term research agenda for Responsible AI and/or Human-Centered AI, including ML, ML+Health, AI FATE, HCI, and other interdisciplinary fields.
• Collaborate across research and the company for research to influence infrastructure and product development.
• Participate in cutting-edge research in various areas, from machine intelligence, machine learning applications, human-computer interaction, or interdisciplinary work bridging topics such as social sciences and healthcare.
• Identify new and upcoming research areas by interacting with potential external and internal collaborators.
• Publish and present novel research findings in top academic venues; engage with the academic community.
