About the job

As Senior Director, you will be a product management leader with experience in platform development, product curation, and launch of market changing consumer experiences. You will be responsible for driving our smart home platform strategy which includes driving smart home consumer experiences across both first-party and third-party devices, unlocking first-party and third-party developer innovation and enablement on the platform, and building our Nest hardware products.

The Google Nest team focuses on hardware, software, and services for the home, ranging from Nest thermostats to Nest smart displays. The Google Nest team develops, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $289,000-$428,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive the outlook for the Google Home platform, driving the product roadmap across hardware, software, and services and delivering high quality and impactful launches through close partnership with engineering and design.

  • Manage the Smart Home Business to include profit and loss (P&L) responsibility and drive profitability.

  • Build and drive global adoption of Google Home platform solutions with first-party and third-party solutions. Drive growth with a technology and business model.

  • Act as an advocate and speaker for the product and interface with the Press, C-level executives within Google and at partner companies.

  • Lead and inspire a team of product managers, while also driving cross-Product Area organizations and cross-functional partners (https://e.g., cross-organizational engineers (https://i.e., software and hardware), Business Development, Marketing, etc.) in order to perfect the consumer experience.
