Senior Engineering Manager, Digital Keys, Android

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Java).

• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

• Experience with Android development.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
• Experience in software stack architectures of embedded devices, interacting with server-side services and on-device low-level layers.
• Experience driving projects in the Android ecosystem.

As a Senior Software Engineering Manager, you will manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, and help develop a team. Software Engineer (SWE) teams work all across the company, in areas such as information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, security, data compression, user interface design, and so much more. Operating with scale and speed, our exceptional software engineers are just getting started and as a manager, you'll guide the way.

In this role, you will produce a team focused on discovering and implementing technologies that enhance the Digital Key experience. You will generate initiatives that depend on multiple stacks and teams including Pixel software and hardware, Android platform, external hardware partners/manufactures, and consortiums to bring these experiences to our users.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team focused on driving projects for Digital Keys.
• Drive collaboration with multiple internal and external hardware/software partners and discuss/discover solutions to launch features with many downstream dependencies.
• Drive multiyear roadmap for innovations and technologies.
• Drive interactions with consortiums creating standards technology for Digital Key.
• Drive Pixel hardware and software evolution to support more use cases.
