    You will help ensure that Google Quantum AI's fleet of quantum computing systems can be built efficiently and operate reliably, ensuring a high velocity for research and development on quantum platforms. You will design manufacturing, assembly, and related test processes as well Design for Excellence (DfX) practices for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) -based electronics, microwave components, and wiring. You will seek opportunities to graduate in-house procedures to manufacturing, continuously improve the lead-time and quality performance of key partners, provide technical input for our supplier strategy, and lay the foundations for a manufacturing engineering team.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.     Responsibilities

    • Design manufacturing, assembly, and related test processes for microwave and electromagnetic components used in Google's fleet of quantum computing systems.
    • Define DfX practices applicable to designers, suppliers, and contract manufacturers for PCBA-based electronics, microwave components, and wiring.
    • Provide technical assessments of and guidance to vendors on manufacturing capabilities and process relevant to quality and lead times.
    • Monitor and continuously improve the manufacturing performance of key partners.
    • Identify additional manufacturing engineering and production test roles needed as the quantum fleet evolves and grows.
