SoC Performance Architect

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

• 3 years of experience with architecture performance modeling.

• 3 years of experience with Python or C/C++.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in ASIC architecture performance analysis, tools and simulators at different abstraction levels (e.g., Cycle Accurate, TLM, Functional, etc.).
• Experience analyzing workloads on systems or devices.
• Knowledge of hardware performance monitors or profiling, and profiling/tracing tools in Android (e.g., Systrace).
• Knowledge of OS, driver, Firmware, software stack, OpenGL, OpenCL, Java, Codec.

About the job

In this role, you will collaborate with software and hardware architects to model and analyze the performance of important mobile use cases on hardware designs, in order to influence the architecture designs of silicon chips.

You will be responsible for developing and building tools/simulators and methodologies, and discovering opportunities for pre-silicon architecture optimization. You will use simulation, emulation, and device profiling to build compelling analysis of important workloads.

Responsibilities

• Write code to develop simulators and models to evaluate mobile use cases.
• Study the behavior and characterization of a variety of workloads, on both devices and simulators.
• Participate in architectural design and evaluation of silicon designs.
• Perform pre-silicon performance study and post-silicon validation.
• Communicate the analysis results in both qualitative and quantitative fashion.
