Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

• 3 years of experience in imaging related development on CPU or GPU

• Experience in C/C++ programming

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in imaging algorithms, camera pipeline, computer vision, or related techniques
• Experience in software architecture design
• Experience in performance optimization for imaging/ML workloads
• Knowledge of photography and image quality assessment
• Excellent communication, planning, and mentoring skills

As Chrome OS continues to grow in adoption, the Chrome OS Camera Algorithm team aims to provide the best video conferencing and camera experience. We work with multiple teams to enable Machine Learning (ML) and hardware technologies, and influence the roadmaps of future Chrome OS hardware. We put emphasis on product excellence and work to optimize every aspect of our feature and engineering practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead the effort to drive the creation and advancement of the imaging algorithm and ML workloads to improve image quality (e.g., noise reduction, tone enhancement, etc.) as well as enable features (e.g., HDR video, face relighting, etc.).
• Develop tests and test frameworks to validate that features are working correctly and to aid in debugging.
• Track and improve the usage of these camera features for specific use cases.
