The Quantum LabOS team supports the operation of Google's Quantum Hardware Lab by improving features, performance, reliability, and usability of toolchains critical for building quantum processors. We own the data engineering aspect of the lab: data warehouse, operational database, dashboard, and monitoring infrastructure.
In this role, you will support the development and maintenance of the in-house quantum chip design or fabrication toolchains, which are critical for realizing and accelerating the design and fabrication of quantum chips. You will work closely with other Software Engineers and the users (e.g., chip designers, fabrication engineers, etc.) to identify bottlenecks, pain points, integration issues, and develop designs and improvements to the toolchains. You will improve the robustness, observability, and documentation of the toolchains.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $133,000-$194,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Develop, maintain, and improve the fabrication toolchain or chip design toolchain.
Proactively work with users to identify and fix deficiencies and pain points.
Participate in bug triage and on-call responsibilities, primarily during business hours.
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content.
