Software Engineer III, SoC Performance Analysis

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.

• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

• Experience with C/C++, SoC or CPU architecture, performance modeling.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, and/or cross-business projects.
• 2 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, and/or debugging.
• Experience working with hardware and software teams developing complex SoC’s, as well as correlating modeled performance with RTL/Emulation/Silicon.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Domain knowledge in one or more of the following areas: CPU, Cache, Interconnect, DRAM, or PCIe.

As a Software Engineer III, you will work closely with internal system teams and system on a chip (SoC) architecture teams to develop a comprehensive understanding of the SoC we build, the important performance metrics, benchmarks, measuring tools, and available optimization knobs.

You will define methods and technologies to model SoC performance at different accuracy levels, supporting architectural explorations and decision-making. You will then correlate performance projections with measured post-silicon data.

Responsibilities

• Develop simulators and architectural models of general compute SoC's.
• Collaborate with system architects, SoC's, and IP architects as well as software and application experts to understand the current and future SoC requirements.
• Drive architectural analysis and evaluation of future SoC design features.
• Perform pre-silicon performance simulation and correlate with post-silicon measurements.
• Communicate analysis results in both qualitative and quantitative fashion.
