Software Engineering Manager, Load Balancers, Google Cloud Networking

Minimum qualifications:

• Experience working on distributed systems in distributed teams.

• Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, Python, JavaScript, or Go.

• Experience managing software engineering teams (e.g., mentoring software engineers, setting technical direction).

Preferred qualifications:

• Practical experience working on projects built on top of any of public cloud providers.
• Knowledge of private and public cloud design considerations and limitations in the areas of virtualization, global infrastructure, distributed systems, load balancing, and networking.

The L7 Load Balancer team in WAW is responsible for control and configuration planes for all L7 Load Balancers through improvements in APIs and UI. The team is solving various classes of problems related to client facing UI, and control plane API design and implementation which allows efficient, secure, and reliable traffic optimization all around the planet. Responsibilities

• Grow and lead a team of highly skilled engineers working on innovative ideas within Google Cloud Networking.
• Execute engineering processes to deliver on time and with regards to a very high bar for quality, reliability, performance, and user experience.
• Be an inspirational leader who grows and develops talent and instill a healthy and fun culture in their team.
• Work with Product Managers and other teams on projects’ roadmaps and strategies.
• Work with the existing customers to provide a Google-level of quality support for them.
