Minimum qualifications:
JD or equivalent degree and admitted to the bar or authorized to practice law in the country where the position is located.
Experience in strategically addressing, minimizing and avoiding risk involving products, regulation, engagement with legislators, political scrutiny and matters of highest reputational impact.
Experience with high risk incident response and regulatory readiness preparation.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with litigation, criminal, or regulatory enforcement.
Experience managing or mentoring others, partnering with cross-functional teams, and influencing others without authority.
Ability to think strategically and anticipate strategic risks.
Ability to manage cross-functional projects.
Ability to understand technical issues.
Alphabet’s Regulatory Response, Investigations and Strategy team (ARRIS) addresses issues that involve regulatory scrutiny, enforcement actions, and other proceedings like shareholder litigation, internal investigations and data incidents, as well as other emerging risks across Alphabet and globally. That includes matters that relate to our people, our products, our users, legislators and society, and our ecosystem.
As EMEA Director of Strategy, ARRIS, you’ll lead a team that identifies and addresses the emerging and known risks to the company. You will work with Legal, Public Policy, Trust and Safety, Office of Compliance and Integrity, Communications, Marketing, Product and Engineering teams at Google and other Alphabet companies and will lead projects designed to address and mitigate those risks.

Identify potential or emerging internal and external risk for all aspects of the Google and other Alphabet companies’ businesses in EMEA.
Evaluate those risks to determine which are likely to materialize and to identify strategic ways to mitigate those risks.
Undertake and strategically manage special projects to address risk and increase Alphabet’s resilience to risk, including proactive compliance measures.
Incident response and helping to address urgent, unanticipated risks.
