Sustaining Quality Engineer, Pixel Product Quality

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience in a customer-facing role.

• 3 years of experience in program, product, or project management.

• Experience with quality tools (e.g., PMP, six sigma, lean, DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, control), value stream mapping, SIPOC, pull planning).

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in product quality control systems, statistical methods, cosmetic criteria, and inspections.
• Experience in surface mount technology, printed circuit board assembly, and system/sub-assembly manufacturing processes.
• Experience in electronics, product assembly, inspection, and test process development.
• Experience working with original equipment manufacturer partners.
• Knowledge of mechanical design or electronics schematics.

The Pixel Product Quality team is looking for a Sustaining Quality Engineer to be responsible for managing issue resolution for early field failure returns and issues throughout the product life cycle. As a Sustaining Quality Engineer, your responsibility will be to anticipate, identify and resolve product quality issues that affect customer satisfaction, experience, or delivery schedules. You will collaborate with various internal teams (e.g., Product Development, Product Operations, Reliability, Failure Analysis, Reverse Logistics, Customer Services), and also engage with manufacturing and supplier development engineers.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product quality managers prior to launch to review known issues and develop mitigation plans for products.
• Lead pre-launch carrier requirements and documentation, support and manage critical early field failure return issues to closure.
• Lead stop ship recovery plans for carrier product quality escalations including communication to leadership.
• Support regional carrier quality leads as business partners are added and serve as the primary contact for carriers and business partners.
• Understand factory out-going quality control process and work on improving any gaps that could result in customer failures.
