Technical Accountant, Cross Product Area

Minimum qualifications:

• Master's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.

• 8 years of experience from public accounting and/or public multinational high-tech companies.

Preferred qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant/Certificate Authority and excellent understanding of GAAP accounting principles (e.g. predominantly business recognition).

• Experience working in a technical accounting or similar role at the SEC or FASB.

• Ability to work with senior management and influence decision making.

• Excellent attention to detail, organized, and thorough with the desire for continuous improvement.

• Excellent project management, verbal communication, analytical, and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical research on complex accounting issues (e.g. with heavy emphasis on business arrangements) and provide accounting consultation advice to business partners under US GAAP supporting agreements from agreement construct through contracting/reporting.
• Work with various cross-functional stakeholders on complex accounting issues (e.g. predominantly business across Alphabet).
• Draft and maintain global accounting policies and memos.
• Develop and facilitate training and education to stakeholders across the organization.
• Keep business partners abreast of developments in accounting and financial reporting and related firm policies and positions through issuance of various publications, training sessions and other meeting forums; draft comment letters to standard setters.
