As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

    The Pixel Device Core Software team is responsible for the core software running on Pixel Phones. The team comprises the software subsystems such as core bring-up, performance, power, graphics, display, sensors and more. The team works with the hardware teams to bring up new silicon and phones, and are key to shipping Pixel products.

    As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) for Factory Software Program, you will be a crucial player in ensuring the software quality for manufacturing of Pixel phones. You will collaborate with software, hardware engineering, and factory operation teams to optimize and scale factory operations, driving efficiency, and excellence.

    The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google's artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with Software Engineering teams across multiple Google Campuses to plan for the device bring-up, resolve Factory Software and manufacturing issues.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Hardware Engineering, Quality, Test, Operation teams and contract manufacturers to implement new technologies, enhance Factory Software quality and test processes, reduce test-cycle time and increase yield rate.

    • Travel to external contract manufacturers for a timely management during the critical hardware builds.

    • Collate and represent overall Factory Software status with leadership, escalate issues as necessary and recommend a way forward, and manage communication of progress and status within the core team and externally (e.g., customers, partners, etc.).
