As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

    The Pixel carrier certification team is responsible for certifying Pixel products for global carriers. Our team focuses on lab testing which includes PTCRB/GCF, carrier specific testing, and industry certifications. Team members rely on their technical knowledge in wireless communication to effectively manage certification projects for Pixel devices.

    The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google's artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage communication of progress/status with stakeholders and leadership in various locations and time zones. Own and nurture relationships between cross-functional teams.
    • Provide clear communication to cross-functional team leads and senior management regarding material development status, schedule, resource requirements, issues, and priorities. Identify and triage risks, and create plans to resolve.
    • Work with the certification team members to support the testing activities in the labs. Work on and track test equipment issues.
    • Estimate work efforts, define milestones, manage resources, track progress, resolve dependencies, evaluate risks, and communicate status to upper management and project stakeholders. Ask questions that clarify priorities and drive the team to be highly effective.
    • Manage complex and high impact cross-functional projects, including both software and hardware areas, and across geographically dispersed teams. Develop broad domain and technical knowledge.
