Technical Writer, Chrome Browser Extensions and Web Store

Note: Google’s hybrid workplace includes remote roles.

Remote location: Canada.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 4 years of relevant work experience, including experience researching and writing technical documentation for developers (APIs, SDKs, web technologies).

• Experience documenting APIs for developer audience.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience building Chrome Extensions or building for the web.
• Proficiency with HTML and CSS, and in a UNIX environment.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

We want to provide the best technical documentation to our ecosystem developers so that they can help our platform to remain the best in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain documentation for a developer audience, including launch blogs, API how-to guides, best-practice guidance, samples, and technical concept guides.
• Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others, and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing.
• Manage complex documentation projects and maintain organization within a large website.
• Collaborate with teammates in shaping a great narrative for our users.
