Test Engineer, Device Sync, Fitbit

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 3 years of experience in coding, developing test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and debugging.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in specialized testing, such as production testing, system integration testing, etc.
• 1 year of experience with mobile testing.
• 1 year of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.

In this role, you will work with Fitbit engineering and product teams to develop and implement comprehensive test and automation strategies that will enable us to make the syncing of health data reliable and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans, strategy documents, and automation frameworks for syncing data between Fitbit devices, mobile phones (e.g., iOS and Android), and backend.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and review design specifications, decision documents, critical user journeys, key performance indicators, and bug triage.
• Drive opportunities and lead efforts to iterate upon existing test infrastructure and develop new tools when required.
• Partner with the broader Engineering Productivity team and participate in organization-wide automation and quality initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and test expertise to the rest of the team and be a solid advocate for quality.
