UX Research Manager, Google Photos

Minimum qualifications:

• 10 years of experience as a qualitative researcher or other relevant research work (e.g., human factors, anthropologist, UX, etc.).

• Experience in UX research utilizing various methods including usability studies, contextual inquiry, and surveys.

• Experience leading a team, including mentoring and team development.

• Experience managing research teams.

Preferred qualifications:

• Ability to develop business and market strategy based on research, data, and industry trends.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.

In this role, you’ll take the time to understand not just the execution side of UX, but also the business aspects of the products we build. You’ll collaborate with leaders of other UX, Engineering, and Product Management teams to create innovative experiences across all of Google’s products, leveraging your passion for brand, craft, and design quality.

Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google. Photos is one of the most sought after products at Google and is looking for both client-side (web and mobile), with server-side (search, storage, serving) and machine intelligence (learning, computer vision) Software Engineers. We are dedicated to making Google experiences centered around the user.

Responsibilities

• Work in partnership with cross-functional partners (e.g., Product Managers, Engineers, UX, etc.) to drive research insights through the product development lifecycle.
• Communicate results informing future product strategy and cross-functional decisions.
• Oversee work, ensure quality performance, and deliver high value and impactful programs and deliverables across Google Photos and Pixel initiatives.
• Collaborate with UX leadership across Google Photos and Pixel to ensure research and design are complementing and informing each other.
