ies & Systems. You will report to a Senior Manager, Facilities and Reliability and this role can be based in Lake Forest, IL. This position involves approximately 50% travel.
You Will:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team supporting the facility reliability.
Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Support and facilitate facilities pillar workstreams.
Execute reliability strategies to ensure the reliability and efficiency of all distribution center equipment and systems.
Assist with executing preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance activities.
Partner with DC Facility Managers, Techs, and Controls Engineers for MHE and WCS components with a goal of improving throughput, reliability, and uptime.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track maintenance performance and reliability metrics.
Assist with root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions to address equipment failures and reduce downtime.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and corporate facilities teams to optimize equipment performance and enhance overall facility efficiency.
Ensure the efficient allocation of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high facility and reliability standards.
Assist with conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
Establish and implement plan to audit mechanical systems while partnering with local facilities teams and report out results and action items.
Be able to travel to DC locations in the US, Canada, and Mexico to conduct with MHE mechanical/controls audits.
Ensure spare parts of critical elements of conveyance systems are available and report out deficiencies with plans to correct.
Create a standardize process to publish conveyance and scanner performance metrics across the DC network.
Support, establish, and publish conveyance metrics to drive consistency and improve the overall DC performance.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in maintenance engineering.
Implement innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
Manage relationships with equipment vendors, contractors, and service providers.
Partner with IP to negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure optimal performance and value.
Partner with GTG's to create open dialogue regarding actions taken by the business, vendors, and GTG to address improvement opportunities.
Oversee the quality of work performed by external vendors and contractors.
Implement and conduct a quarterly review process to ensure SLA compliance of our vendors and internal partners.
Ability to consistently attend outage calls (including weekends/nights/holidays) and be on-call to respond to outage situations on short notice.
Collect, populate DC outages, and input information into outage tracker.
Report/publish outage logs with root cause analysis & maintain an archive that can be use by team to help troubleshoot similar future events.
Publish actions taken to leadership and impacted partners in a timely manner.
You Have:
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in maintaining reliability within a distribution center or manufacturing environment.
Proven leadership, team, vendor management skills.
Strong knowledge of maintenance and reliability best practices, including preventive and predictive maintenance.
Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
