What you'll do on a typical day:
Operate Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) driven state-of-the-art Automated Case Packing equipment as needed
Replenish materials (slip sheets, pallets, labels and stretchwrap) in system as required.
Inspect pallets - QA/QC tasks
Manually Palletize and Depalletize Cases not handled by the System
Start / Stop System (Basic HMI Functionality)
Cleaning, Housekeeping, etc.
Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, Clear System Jams - Remove Damaged Cases and Pallets to minimize downtime and promote productivity; assist technician with more complex machinery breakdowns and repairs
Provide hourly count reports of production and downtime
Complete general housekeeping duties around the machine, such as sweeping floors and cleaning machine parts, supply tables, rework tables, etc.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
To successfully meet all background check requirements
It'd be great if you also have:
1 year of forklift experience
High school diploma or equivalent
1 year of warehouse experience
Experience independently operating an automated picking line
The ability to speak, read (fine print) and write in English, follow verbal and written directions, write simple correspondence and effectively communicate with others
The willingness to be cross-trained to operate different styles of automated equipment
This job requires the ability to:
Lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance
Stand for extended periods of time
Work in a warehouse environment that is not climate-controlled
Safely walk, reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
