Ops Interns will gain working knowledge of the different facets of our business, including operations, sales, customer support and service, safety and Lean principles.
What you'll do on a typical day:
Learn the basic job functions and perform responsibilities relative to warehouse operations and meet weekly goals and objectives.
Engage with various levels of operations leadership to strategically assist in continuous improvement by identifying problems and create lean solutions
Engage with peers to work together and achieve a defined and common business purpose
Exchange ideas, thoughts, opinions, knowledge and data with others so that the message is received and understood clarity and purpose
Participate and/or lead projects with key partners and peer interns by creating and developing project plans, determine requirements, deliverables, resources, timing/milestones, and risks.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
Current collegiate Junior or Senior in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management or related field with anticipated graduation by June 2026.
In academic good standing with a grade point average of at least 3.0.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information and data in an organized and audience appropriate manner
High degree of integrity to maintain confidentiality.
It'd be great if you also have:
Leadership and/or people management experience in collegiate programs and activities, or in previous/current employment.
Strong interest in warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL)
Bilingual English/Spanish
Ability to take initiative to confront challenges, inspire others, and collaborate in a team environment
Interest in Operations Management as a career path post-graduation
This job requires the ability to:
Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights
Stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time
Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
Handle or manage tools or equipment
Tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments
