    Position summary

    ILL:**

    • Analyze claims data and effectively communicate conclusions in writing and verbally. Draw insights and observations from detailed and multifaceted claims data and reports.

    • Respond to urgent/timely requests and produce routine and ad hoc information in a rapid and dynamic turnaround climate.

    • Participate in the development or enhancement of complex reports and tools for multiple lines of business.

    • Quantify the impacts of internal operational changes and external trends on frequency, severity, and overall loss results.

    • Develop industry knowledge and internal data expertise to provide solutions to complex business questions. Tuned into external industry trends and best practices.

    • Work in partnership with the team and management to generate innovative solutions by approaching problems with curiosity and open-mindedness, using existing information to its fullest potential.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field (math, finance, actuarial science, or analytics preferred).

    • 2-4 years of related analytical and property & casualty industry experience preferred (e.g. actuarial, business analytics, or finance).

    • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to perform exploratory data analysis.

    • Intermediate knowledge of Excel and basic knowledge of SQL; ability to efficiently work with large and complex data sets.

    • Experience with turning raw data into meaningful information; ability to summarize complex business concepts into written and oral communications (including the use of PowerPoint).

    • Familiar with key industry financial/operational metrics.

    • Strong organization, project, and time management skills; ability to multi-task and meet all deadlines with quality product.
