    **Our Claims team is currently seeking Auto Field Damage Appraisers for Massachusetts.

    This is a full time, non-exempt role.**

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The position is responsible for all aspects of the appraisal process for damage included but not limited to automobiles, trucks, motor homes, travel trailers, motorcycles and snowmobiles. Responsibilities include physical inspection of vehicle damage, written documentation of damage, appraisal of repair costs, negotiation of cost-effective repair alternatives according to Company guidelines, entry of appraisal into Company system, and timely completion of assignments. Company vehicle provided.

    IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

    • Perform physical inspections of vehicle damage as part of claim adjusting process; may handle inspections associated with highly complex claims with minimal oversight 
    • Prepare written repair cost estimates, applying Company guidelines and State regulations and exercising independent judgment when warranted
    • Compare loss description to estimation of damages
    • Negotiate cost-effective repair figures according to Company guidelines and State regulations 
    • Be responsible for determination of actual cash values for total loss vehicles

    WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

    • MA Appraisers license required as well as valid driver’s license.
    • Minimum of one year of automotive -related and/or field appraisal experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
    • Knowledge and application of fundamental claims practices and procedures
    • With minimal oversight, performs work independently within specified limits and authority
    • Must be willing and able to travel as business dictates due to high volume or catastrophe situations. This includes overnight stays and, at times, extended time away from home
    • Possesses strong customer service skills and behaviors
