    Our Hanover Programs team is currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst in our Windsor, CT location or remote work location.  This is a full time, exempt role. Position is eligible for Hybrid/Flex work arrangement.

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Programs Business Technology Services (BTS) Senior Business Analyst (BA) serves as a primary contact for all the business requirements and Processes. The BTS Senior BA is responsible for the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and communication of business requirements as well as end user readiness of Business Solutions for Program Business. They assess the needs of the Business partner through direct interaction and look for technology opportunities to develop and support the growth of the Business. Throughout an assignment, Senior Business Analysts acts as a liaison while they interface and work collaboratively with Technology and Business organizations.

    IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

    • Senior Business Analysts assess the needs of the assignment by directly interacting with Management, Leadership, Technology, the business, and the customer.
    • A solid understanding of their business partners existing business processes, the key drivers, and measures of success for the business, and the short and long-term direction of the Business and Technology.
    • May work independently and/or mentor other Business Analysts
    • Accountable for a significant portion of a Project Plan in collaboration with Project Team members, from requirements through design, testing, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance; with accountability for specific deliverables.
    • Providing technical expertise across business functions, understanding the relationship between the Business and the Data and Technology that support the Commercial Lines Insurance Products.
    • Responsible for the collection, analysis, documentation of multiple business and/or technical requirements which may include but is not limited to: Participating in planning sessions with one or more Business Partners to improve one or more business processes or products within an organization.

    Technical Knowledge, Coverage, Support, & Project Management:

    • Responsible for the collection, development, analysis, documentation, and communication of Business needs and Requirements in support of Commercial Lines Rating & Issuance applications for the following Lines of Business: Property, General Liability, Auto, Inland Marine, WC, BOP, Professional Liability, and others.
    • Coordination with Vendor regarding Bureau changes with communication of impact to Product/Actuarial/BTS/UW and evaluation of impact on Systems and Proprietary Forms/Rates/Rules.
    • Assessing needs utilizing a structured Requirements process to recommend Business priorities and advising Business partners on options, Technical limitations, Risks and Costs vs. Benefits.
    • Participates and/or Leads requirements gathering sessions to identify and articulate needs/requirements.
    • Aptitude to write unambiguous, verified Requirements to a testable level (Functional and Non-functional Requirements).
    • Senior Business Analysts are expected to be Subject Matter Expert (SME) in their working understanding of Coverages, Rating Algorithms, Information Systems, Business Operations, and Processes to analyze Requirements, develop Specifications, story boarding, and Prototyping to facilitate the design of Integrated Solutions.
    • Knowledge of Business Analysis, Business Processes and Project Methodologies are applied to their assigned Medium to High-level Complexity Projects.
    • Performs work across multiple initiatives and processes.
    • Works independently and leverages resources when needed.
    • Has an understanding of and an ability to apply knowledge of multiple technical business systems.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or certification, specialized training or equivalent work experience preferred.
    • Generally, 5-7 years of relevant Technical or Business work experience.
    • Knowledge of AAIS, ISO & NCCI Rules, Rating and Forms for applicable Lines of Business.
    • Requires solid knowledge of Rating, Coverages, Business Operations, Requirements Processing, and Business Modeling concepts, Information Systems and Project life-cycle knowledge.
    • Aptitude to write unambiguous, verified Requirements to a testable level (Functional and Non-Functional Requirements).
    • Knowledge of Industry Business Analysis Best Practices preferred.
    • Planning, developing, and executing routine test/use cases and validating results during all phases of testing.
    • Provide support to Users on Rating/ Issuance and Over-all Systems functionality and capabilities.
    • Test all Commercial LOBs in all States for System Core functionality.
    • Troubleshoot all system problems and coordinates resolution with the systems vendor to ensure that system changes are appropriate and viable.
    • Work with Senior Management to develop Requirements for New Systems Components – including Usability Projects.
