    Our Enterprise Insurance Services team is currently seeking an Information Architect in our Worcester, MA location or fully remote work arrangement.

    This is a full time, exempt role.

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Information Architect provides overall technology leadership, direction, guidance and definition of an information architecture that effectively supports the Enterprise Business Strategy.  This is an Architecture position that requires data design, modeling, and governance experience. 

    **
    IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:**

    • Gather and analyze data and data requirements and develop the more complex logical and physical database designs and data models in support of enterprise information management.
    • Gather and analyze data integration requirements and develop XML schemas in support of system integration.
    • Work with other architects, applications and systems teams to ensure database designs and data models support the integration of data/information flow across systems and platforms.
    • Work with Database administrators, architects, and application development leads on physical database attributes, including DDL and DML scripts.
    • Develop application integration architectures with ability to deploy data integration using a wide variety of data delivery styles, and deployment patterns.
    • Contribute to technical approach, high level and detailed design of the project in accordance with architectural standards
    • Provide guidance and oversight of source to target mapping and business rules.
    • Assist with the development and enforcement of methodologies and standards for data modeling and XML Schema design.
    • Coach and mentor less experienced members of the data architecture team.
    • Develop process for capturing and maintaining metadata from all operational, ODS and data warehousing components.
    • Contribute to and create documentation related to architecture, design, planning, and overall management of Enterprise Data Integration.
    • Develop architecture as per data architecture standards and best practices, including ACORD, data naming standards, etc. 

    WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

    • Degree in business management, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study
    • 5-8 years of overall Information systems, services / consulting experience of which the recent 3+ years in data architecture and data related fields
    • Ability to elicit data requirements with both a current and future lens for Claims, Billing, Finance and Data Analytics as well as across the enterprise
    • Ability to conduct translation of business questions and requirements into data objects
    • Ability to work in all phases of database and XML schema design and data modeling activities
    • Ability to work on data architecture projects independently with minimal or no oversight required
    • Thorough knowledge of Data architectures, functions, and features
    • Strong SQL skills across multiple platforms (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Azure) and data design patterns
    • Ability to diagram data flow through applications, integration processes, and ODS/EDW components
    • Strong problem-solving and metadata skills
    • P&C insurance knowledge a plus
    • Knowledge of the ACORD message model for P&C a plus
    • Conceptualization: To visualize the solution, process or infrastructure that is required to satisfy the business requirement

    • Foresight:  To manage the short-term, medium-term and long-term planning horizons concurrently which includes breaking long-term projects into deliverable and meaningful business solutions.
    • Consensus Building:  To enable a group of people with diverse backgrounds to accept a majority or common conclusion without damaging relationships.
    • Facilitation:  To guide a debate without forcing a conclusion while both ensuring all participants have an opportunity to voice ideas and opinions and keeping the discussion on target.
    • Leadership:  The ability to influence a broad audience to adopt a particular path and be respected as a leader regardless of position/role in the organization.
    • Logic:  To select the best solution from a range of options to resolve an issue or seize an opportunity.
    • Communication:  To effectively convey the results of the architecture, the process to develop it and the value it provides by demonstrating the applicability of technology to the business.  This includes both written and oral communication and the ability to scale these communications from technical to business focused in nature.
