Our Professional Liability department is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, strategic, and sales-minded Regional Distribution Director to join our team in the Pacific Northwest. This position resides within the Specialty Division and reports the Regional Distribution Director or Distribution Management Leader within Professional and Executive Lines segment – supporting Management Liability, Professional Liability, and Healthcare

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Regional Distribution Director role reports to the Distribution Management Leader and has primary responsibility for quality and volume of submission flow, agency relations and Hanover field office relations in their assigned territory. The RDM is also expected to work closely with their underwriting and business partners to develop and maintain strong and profitable relationships. The incumbent should have a good understanding of the business segment products are able to customize their approach to the unique selling situation of each of their agents and territories.
This is a full-time, exempt role.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
Identifies new business development opportunities, deepening relevancy with Target Agents, and expanding distribution through Specialty focused agents to achieve target specialty returns.
Collaborates closely with the RDD or AVP and Regional Vice Presidents to own and develop the distribution strategies for assigned region.
Establishes agent and local office development plans, monitors results, and takes appropriate action.
Works in conjunction with local office leadership to develop and manage a stable of target agents in each territory ensuring that the relationship and yield from each target agent remains productive.
Interfaces with RE and RVP and other business unity leaders on territory and cross-business issues along with maintaining regular contact with all target agent partners and field leadership.
Oversight of agency relations:
Proactive and consistent production efforts
Actively engaging underwriter and brokers in relationship
Quarterly status updates on target agents
Involvement/monitoring of renewal book as appropriate
Benchmark expectation of 50% total field travel (i.e., 25% overnight 25%-day travel)
Oversight of Hanover field office relations:
At discretion of RDD or AVP to support agency relations responsibilities
Outreach (email, phone call, videoconference, travel, etc.)
Monitoring volume and quality of submission/referral flow
Quarterly status updates by area

Achievement of Regional business objectives:
Business Priorities
New Business premium
Total written premium
Book profile and thin metrics
Agency management metrics (development of target agents, management of key target agent sources top ensure behaviors consistent with target agent status, terminations and additions to target agent ranks, etc.)
Service and quality metrics
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
Bachelor’s Degree or Higher. Industry Designations ( CIC,CRM, RPLU, CPCU) Preferred.
5 - 10 years Commercial Lines Business Development/Sales Management experience required; Professional Lines experience preferred for corresponding business line.
Proven track record of achieving goals/objectives and development of territorial business plans and supporting initiatives.
Proven ability to effectively manage and develop a team of Sales/Business Development Managers (for Supervisory roles only), while balancing multiple sales priorities in a dynamic and very fast-paced environment.
Strong collaboration and influence skills, particularly with field leadership, agency decision makers and key stakeholders, as this role will be working across multiple branches and/or regions.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential including interpersonal interactions, presentations, and written communications, including impeccable follow through.
Consistently demonstrates exceptional business acumen and functional knowledge of product offerings, technologies, distribution channels and service strategies, as appropriate.
Project/Program Management – understands the principles, theories, practices, and techniques involved in planning, managing, and implementing projects and programs.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Ability to travel frequently (~50% overall; mix of day/overnight travel dependent on territory).
