Business Systems Developer

Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated application developer that has a minimum of 10 year’s experience with the JDE platform, to join our team. An ideal applicant should have experience designing, developing and implementing business applications for the JD Edwards platform. The position requires in-depth knowledge of database, table, application, report & business function design. In addition to this, applicants must have experience of developing interfaces between JDE and external systems using Enterprise One business Services.

The ideal applicant would have experience of upgrading JDE from Xe to version to 9.2 but that is not necessary. Experience of the current tool set is more critical to the role.

Experience must include JD Edwards applications development using the JDE 9.2 tools release; C Business Functions and NERs; SOA and EDI; Reports, Interfaces, Conversions & Applications; migration projects with JDE; C & C++; Enterprise One Business Services; Orchestrator

Job Responsibilities:

The role holder will be expected to be responsible for the following:

• Development of new features in JDE, C core systems etc….
• Development & Support of interfaces to the back-end ERP from 3rd party systems, using Enterprise One business services
• Creation and maintenance of JSON/REST services, and some Windows services
• This describes the core of the developer’s activity. Programming and development should be done in a timely manner according to the needs of the project concerned. The developer is sometimes responsible for providing estimates for development. Co-ordinating efforts within a team is extremely important.
• Knowledge of pure C would be an asset but is not strictly necessary and can be acquired.

In addition, the candidate will need to provide the following:

• Technical documentation to support all development
• All development must be documented to a standard set internally.
• Support of production systems and problem-solving where these relate to core development or technical software issues
• When production issues arise, the developer should be able to step into solve issues.
• Server-side programming (Linux) and support of interfaces between JDE and other systems
• Additional programming tasks may be required in time (Transform forms software & Android App Development)

Job Skills & Experience Required:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following:

• A minimum of 10 years experience in ERP Implementations and knowledge and experience with multiple JDE modules
• experience manipulating data in traditional SQL databases such as Oracle or DB2 which we currently use.
• At a third level, any experience with IBM i (also known as System i, iSeries and AS/400) would be useful, in the short term as we transition to Oracle DB
• Experience with JSON/REST services would be an asset

Education:

The person should ideally be of graduate standard with a background in computer skills,

but experience is more important than certification.
