JOB OVERVIEW: 

A production operator operates machinery, understand dimensional tolerances; read blueprints and perform set-up on various parts and punch presses. Should have a basic understanding of cutting dies, shop travelers and quality procedures. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Run production machinery with care and efficiency.  

• Ensure that shop travelers are documented complete. 

• Notify quality when first article inspections are required and report any scrap parts. 

• Notify quality when first article inspections are required and report any scrap parts. 

• Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area. 

• Report Issues with tools/machines that require repair and/or replacement. 

WORK EXPERIENCE:   

• One year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred 

EDUCATION:   

• High school diploma or equivalent required 

• Certificate from college or technical school specific to Machine Operation a plus 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:   

• Ability to read, understand and perform standard procedures and work instructions 

• Intermediate mechanical skills required 

• Intermediate math and logic skills required 

• Intermediate computer skills and software use experience required 

TRAVEL / WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

• Travel – typically not required 

• Position typically works in a manufacturing environment on site where environmental conditions are stable.  May be exposed to higher levels of noise typical in a manufacturing environment. 

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit or stand for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, and operate manual and non-manual machinery; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, stretch and lift up to 20 pounds 

• Position requires that the employee use eye protection at all times while working
