JOB OVERVIEW:
A production operator operates machinery, understand dimensional tolerances; read blueprints and perform set-up on various parts and punch presses. Should have a basic understanding of cutting dies, shop travelers and quality procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Run production machinery with care and efficiency.
Ensure that shop travelers are documented complete.
Notify quality when first article inspections are required and report any scrap parts.

Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area.
Report Issues with tools/machines that require repair and/or replacement.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certificate from college or technical school specific to Machine Operation a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Ability to read, understand and perform standard procedures and work instructions
Intermediate mechanical skills required
Intermediate math and logic skills required
Intermediate computer skills and software use experience required
TRAVEL / WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Travel – typically not required
Position typically works in a manufacturing environment on site where environmental conditions are stable. May be exposed to higher levels of noise typical in a manufacturing environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit or stand for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, and operate manual and non-manual machinery; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, stretch and lift up to 20 pounds
Position requires that the employee use eye protection at all times while working
