Position summary

customers and other stakeholders (ISOs, consultants, among others)

  • Ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.

  • Seeks optimized technical solutions resourcefully, collaborating with broad Hitachi Energy FACTS team.

  • Creates added value for the customer and Hitachi Energy by using innovation and experience from installed projects. Communicates details in accordance with Hitachi Energy offering and strategy.

  • Accountable for the technical solution in tenders and will have a technical coordinating role in tenders.

  • Builds and supports FACTS team for development of competencies and employees in NAM.

  • Supports and participates in market communications: seminars, conference events, publications.

  • Supports Sales in Capture Team activities and is generally part of Capture Team

  • Proactively identify improvements in technology concepts and request changes in FACTS application platform

  • Identify possible areas of improvement in internal processes and participate in improvement activities.

Your background

  • Master of Electrical Engineering (preferably in Power Systems)

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in tender/project work within FACTS for transmission applications

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

  • Experience from building and maintaining relationships with customers for both series- and shunt compensation technology.

  • Customer focus and ability to gather information and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and related industry.

  • Extensive experience from FACTS projects including system design, calculations, analysis and simulations.

  • Experience from new converter technology based on multilevel voltage source converters (VSC)

  • Knowledge of related engineering tools and software required to accomplish assigned tasks (PSSE, PSCAD/EMTDC, RTDS, among others)

  • Knowledge of MACH® systems and experience from testing of control system performance in RTDS

  • Experience from commissioning and testing on site.

  • Experience from routine and type testing of main components

  • Ability to work to deadlines and within budgets.

  • Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects/bids while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities.

  • Negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Availability to travel within US, Canada, Mexico and outside NAM; up to 40-50% travel.
