Enter card and/or key, new or modified test data in operator console.
Perform the full range of tests such as; connection, demag, impulse, HLIC, LHIC, , iron loss, load loss, breaker test, temperature rise, sound, power factor, resistance, following procedures and engineering specifications.
Operate power conveyor to load transformer into test stations.
Determine by unit type the required bushing adapters and/or jumpers and install.
Load transformer into test stations using power transfer and connect overhead leads to transformer bushing adapters and/or jumpers to install.
Observe console and recognize and react to abnormal actions and alarms.
Perform remedial actions described by operating instructions and knowledge of the facility to resolve interruptions in the testing procedure.
Check pre-test steps, retest and/or make trouble check on units that fail any automatic test.
Notify supervisor of any unusual test conditions.
Disconnect leads from bushing at end of cycle.
Remove bushing adapters and tag unit if failed.
Record and/or initial processing data or test results according to prescribed procedures for defective test.
Unload transformer using power transfer or push to next station.
Set transformer aside on conveyor and notify appropriate personnel of any malfunctions or equipment irregularities.
Perform special tests including impulse, temperature rise, sound, copper loss, power factor, resistance, and iron loss on various sizes of distribution transformers using proper test equipment, booths, and generators.
Perform and/or assist in development of special tests requested and required by capacity, impulse, or overload and similar tests.
On non-standard hook-ups, work under engineering personnel direction, regarding instrumentation, power supplies, board connections or other special conditions.
Background
Associates Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering related field or minimum 2 years electrical education at a technical college level.
Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
