Role Scope & Expectations:
The Analyst Relations Manager will report to the Manager of PS Managed Services Business Operation. The position will be responsible to develop deep HP presence with industry analysts from recognized agencies such as Gartner, Forester, and IDC. The ideal candidate will demonstrate ability to network and influence Service industry leaders while contributing to the future of our services portfolio. Proof track record of doing so is a must. The Analyst Relations Manager will drive cross-functional conversations with internal and external players such as Industry Analysts, Customer accounts, World-Wide and Regional Communication teams, Service Product Management teams, Strategy & Planning teams and Sales Enablement. This leader will create comprehensive plans to pursue Gartner Magic Quadrant (Managed End-Point Services MQ), Forrester Wave, Gartner Honorable Mentions and other important industry nominations. As a leader in this position, the individual will be expected to routinely exercise independent judgment in developing influencing methods, strategic techniques and criteria for achieving objectives.
Business Impact:
- Sets HP PS Services highly on Industry Analysts' radar while developing a strong partnership.
- Champions the use of industry data into panning and presentations.
- Determine gaps of our current portfolio, POR and strategic projects against key research findings & creates gap closure plans.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Build a network of customers and industry contacts by establishing peer-to-peer relationships (eg.: Area Product Manager to respective Analyst)
- Manage and promote a list of items across our service pillars to enable advocacy among the industry
- Create comprehensive plans to pursue industry leadership nominations
- Work with Service PMs and Comms to identify potential areas to pursue e.g. MQ Managed End-Point Services
- Manage & leverage industry events to establish HP presence (booth coordination, executive intros, organize discussion sessions)
- Plan calendar/cadence and lead informal and formal discussions (analyst/vendor briefings)
- Creates briefing schedule, theme (agenda/topics), works with appropriate exec lead (L2-L4) to prepare
- Fluently aware of existing research content and/or champions creation of new material
- Partner with right players to create content for Product Announcement sessions, Message testing, Roadmap sessions
- Manage use/share of sensitive information via NDAs
- Works with analysts and/or customers to create testimonials and/or write ups/papers about our services
- Represents our team's research needs with Strategy & Planning teams and research vendors while able to recognize existing & available research vs. new
- Drive Managed Services strategic programs related to operational excellence or new areas of pursuit
Education and Experience Required:
- BA or BS in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or Technology related.
- 5+ years of experience in PR, AR or a combination of marketing and communications disciplines.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of MQ/Wave/Honorable mentions cycle & process and established network of industry analysts is a must have.
- Strong relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge within at multiple business units, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies.
- Ability to independently draft and present client deliverables, recommendations, and communications strategies.
- Ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly and independently manage complex project objectives.
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence.
- Superior group facilitation, interviewing, and influence skills.
- Excellent project & program management skills, including project structuring and managing multiple work streams independently.

The estimated range of compensation for this job at the time of this posting is $121,500 - $148,500. This position may be eligible for incentive pay, for openings where this is applicable.
