Global Head of Print Communications
The Global Head of HP Print Communications is charged with communicating Print's essential value in today's digital age. This role is accountable for leading integrated campaigns to build brand reputation, influence perception and drive audience engagement objectives. The leader will work with regional teams, marketing leads, and business unit leads to elevate storytelling to connect with the issues of our time, supported by research and data insights. This role is the primary architect of our most important Print innovation narratives and storylines.
This leader will collaborate with campaign leads to mobilize teams across markets/functions to deliver on priority campaigns and shared goals and drive alignment on content and creative asset development, innovation narrative and global promotion strategies. This leader will work with a range of our thought partners from Conservation International to Time for Kids to NASA.
Overall narratives focus on themes such as business transformation, seamless services, digital acceleration, sustainability, and security. This role must lead and inspire the Print Communications team to create and execute HP's modern Print story as it relates to all print and ink and toner supplies categories including large format graphics products, home and office products, services and solutions across earned media, industry analysts and social media thought leadership. The leader will have a team of ~10 supported by our agency of record, Edelman. This leadership role is a direct report to the Chief Brand & Communications Officer and partners directly with the President of Print and his leadership team. HP Print is a $20B business.
Essential Responsibilities
Communications across all HP Print Products and Services, developing a narrative built for the future.
Communications and executive communications for Tuan Tran, President Printing and Imaging and Solutions; supports business leads in Home/PHS, Office/Business Services, Software, Print Category areas.
Lead an integrated executive communication strategy inclusive of themes, communication strategies, integrated editorial calendaring, content development and execution across channels.
Within the communications plan;
Oversee the creation and deployment of plans to position HP as thought leader inside and outside of HP in innovation and business influencer circles.
Collaborate with print comms leads across office, home, supplies and graphics comms teams to build quarterly and annual plans that align to product launches and power plays resulting in increased awareness and positive reputation to HP/Print.
Innovate new ways to tell the HP/Print leadership story to top tier press that ties well to existing programming across business, technology and lifestyle press.
Work with the team to orchestrate creative events, sponsorships, partnerships, etc. to elevate and drive print relevance.
Increase engagement and size of target audiences; understand integrated communications across paid, earned, social and owned communications; LinkedIn, Facebook/Instagram executive leadership programs; partner with social and internal comms on implementation.
Map a measurement framework to objectively assess communications impact.
Build deep and valuable relationships within Print, the Executive Office and CCBE team.
Work alongside a world-class team at HP and direct and lead our agency partner (Edelman) to lead breakthrough external programming that are truly world class, breakthrough projects.
Education and Experience Required:
BA or BS in Communications, Marketing or Business Administration.
10+ years of experience in PR, AR, marketing and/or communications.
Knowledge and Skills:
Solid writing and editing skills.
Strong oral communications skills; ability to think on feet.
Experience creating, executing and leading comms strategy aligned with business goals.
Organization and program management skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and link PR/AR plans and activities to overall business results.
Analytic skills (measurement, ROI).
Budget tracking/management.
Tact and diplomacy.
