IBM zInfrastructure Migration Expert - Delivery Consultant

, be familiar with application migration methods, can independently assess application environments, evaluate gaps between Fujitsu mainframe and IBM Z and create application migration solution recommendations for client environments while displaying excellent collaboration and communication with Clients, Sellers, Business Partners and Colleagues by delivering reports to clients.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering IBM zInfrastructure Migration Expert solution design, architecture, and implementation of application migration solutions which may include:

• Assessing As-Is Fujitsu application environment and architecture.
• Designing To-Be IBM Z application environment and architecture
• Evaluating gaps between As-Is and To-Be applications and designing migration strategy and planning.
• Providing technical guidance to migrate applications from As-Is to To-Be
• Planning and leading application migration PoC and migration implementation reports and documentation.
• Other technical tasks as necessary to accomplish successful customer outcomes

This role requires a strong knowledge of the IBM Systems Z hardware and software ecosystem, focusing on IBM Z application environment skills. Strong z/OS, middleware and language skills and Fujitsu MSP, middleware (AIM/DB,DC) and language skills are needed.
You will work with customers and IBM Sales and Business Partners to position, scope, and delivery of competitive mainframe platform migration solution offering on the IBM Z® platform, each of which uses middleware and application development and migration expertise for Fujitsu and IBM Z. Candidates must possess a strong background in executive consulting or technical sales and knowledge of application migration solutions.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 15+ years experience working with

• Must have exposure to modernizing Mainframe environment and applications by exploiting RESTful API, zOWE and enabling z/OS connect, Ansible, AI-OPS etc. Collaborating with engineering team for POCs and implementation

• Expert in construction technical solution design & development for new deals, leading RFS projects

• Handson experience in zCloud Integration Architect, design solutions for migrating on-prem Mainframe systems to zCloud datacentres

• Perform standard system programming activities like configuration, installation & maintenance using SMP/E, and vendor software installations in the mainframe environment

• Support customers with IBM Z hardware upgrades, connectivity (physical & logical) and software stack. Familiar with technology roadmap aligned with enterprise Architecture Blueprint.

• Support other team: storage management, performance tuning, capacity planning, security, networking, and operating procedures from zOS perspective

• Deep understanding of z/OS installation, configuration, and management & Deep Knowledge or experience in installing and configuration of IBM z Products. Deep Knowledge or experience with IBM Z DevOps solution, including Opensource.

• Complete MVS Product Administration Requests, MVS tasks for system recovery in DR Drills.

• Create I/O Configuration request on demand, Create zLINUX LPARS, SME in problem resolution - z/LINUX and z/OS

• Complete z/OS builds and supporting changes for Refresh projects, MVS tasks for LPAR decommissions, MVS tasks for LPAR builds, MVS tasks for CPU Swap Projects

• Process RMF, SMF & PCM data.

• Update and reassemble system exits, Maintain OMVS segments and zFS files.

• Provide zLINUX technical support.

• Perform /OS Upgrade Support, CPU Hardware Refresh, Perform IOGENs & Perform/Maintain Coupling Facility SYSPLEX

• Ability to optimize z/OS performance, including memory, CPU, and disk management.

• Knowledge of IBM mainframe hardware, including System z series

• Proficiency in tools for data migration, such as IBM's Data Migration Manager or other third-party solutions.

• Knowledge of backup strategies and tools, such as IBM's GDPS (Geographic Disaster Protection Solution).

• Understanding of mainframe networking protocols, including SNA (Systems Network Architecture) and TCP/IP

• Creation of architectural diagrams for hardware connectivity and port assignments to guide the Clients Data centre team in hardware installation

• Experience with configuring and troubleshooting network connections and communications between mainframes and other systems

• Participate in software(ISVs and zOS) deployments and various support functions as defined by the department manager

• Coordinate with Application Development/Support Team as required

• Coordinate with Infrastructure Support Team if needed

• Develop comprehensive architectural models and technical specifications.

• Should be well aware of emerging trends in mainframe technology and modernization practices.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Expertise across Infrastructure Architecture, modernization, Mainframe to Linux System re- hosting and System Programming, Platform support on large organisation(s) with deep business acumen Knowledge or experience with IBM Z DevOps solution, including Opensource
• Must be passionate to Mentor juniors on their technical career development path
• Experienced in Designing and Planning overall Datacentre migration strategy & Execution.
• Eg: Configured hardware features (e-Config) for zH/W, DASD and Tape storage
• Conversion Infra tool development knowledge
• Dynamic team player who is comfortable working in a small, but rapidly evolving environment.
