In this Infrastructure architect role, you will work closely with several Data Centres, the entire Cloud organization and IBM vendors to support, maintain and operationally improve the IBM cloud infrastructure.

• Manage the critical IaaS infrastructure, a fleet of systems that run customer workloads

• Manage and allocate tools, accelerators, frameworks, templates and other asset related to
engineering productivity and quality that enable service delivery.
• Foster an environment that enables teams to do things correctly, quickly, consistently and with

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead development/support of new and existing capabilities for our compute, storage and network infrastructure services as needed

• Implement and automate infrastructure solutions that support IBM Cloud products and infrastructure

• Strategize and support the compliance and security integrity of the environment

• Enable efficient administration and maintenance of business critical infrastructure and foundational tools - OS, Virtual Machines, load balancers, DNS, Chef, Splunk and such like that run the IBM Cloud

• Support development teams from within and outside the organization in making use of core infrastructure

• Continually improve systems and processes with regards to automation and monitoring.

• Maintain highly performant infrastructure

Required education

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

• 10+ years of strong, deep knowledge of Unix based computer operating system + system administration skill

• 10+ years of hands-on experience, very solid understanding of IP networking concepts.

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with Hardware Virtualization (Hypervisors, VMs etc)

• 5+ years of experience with load balancers like Citrix Netscalar, nginx etc

• Advanced understanding of IP networking, packet framing, and dynamic routing protocols.

• Experience with configuring, managing and troubleshooting DNS at enterprise scale

• Advanced scripting abilities and enterprise scale automation experience

• Excellent oral and written communication

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Experience with public cloud platforms, Strong Linux skills for managing services across platform, good knowledge in Cloud Compute, Storage and Networking and experience in 24/7 cloud operations and support environments.

• ITIL Certifications

• Red Hat and Networking certifications
