Your Role and Responsibilities
***** THIS ROLE WILL BE ONSITE IN COLORADO SPRINGS COLORADO 3 DAYS A WEEK. SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED.**
IBM is searching for a Systems Engineer (Journeyman) to support United States Space Force (USSF)/Space Systems Command (SSC) Cyber Operations Branch for rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

• Manages and monitors installed hardware and software systems.

• Assists with network tap design and system survey to ensure data is properly sampled and transported.

• Evaluates existing systems and assists with technical refreshes.

• Lead and/or assist with hardware installation and software deployment at mission system sites

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty and 3 years' related professional experience; Or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development, or STEM related specialty and 2 years' related professional experience.

• Experience in the following programming languages: Python, Linux CLI, bash scripting

• Certifications: Must have CCNA, Security+, CCNP, JNCIS-Sec, JNCDA or equivalent

• Clearance: DoD Secret clearance required

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems Command
• Experience with Cyber Operations Branch (SSC/SZYO) program office
