Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM is searching for a Systems Engineer (Journeyman) to support United States Space Force (USSF)/Space Systems Command (SSC) Cyber Operations Branch for rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment.
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
Manages and monitors installed hardware and software systems.
Assists with network tap design and system survey to ensure data is properly sampled and transported.
Evaluates existing systems and assists with technical refreshes.
Lead and/or assist with hardware installation and software deployment at mission system sites

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty and 3 years' related professional experience; Or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development, or STEM related specialty and 2 years' related professional experience.
Experience in the following programming languages: Python, Linux CLI, bash scripting
Certifications: Must have CCNA, Security+, CCNP, JNCIS-Sec, JNCDA or equivalent
Clearance: DoD Secret clearance required
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems Command
• Experience with Cyber Operations Branch (SSC/SZYO) program office
