    Position summary

    • 10+ years of experience as a Teradata/DB2 Database developer or in a similar role.

    • Administer and optimize Teradata databases for high availability and performance.

    • Perform query tuning and workload management using Teradata Viewpoint.

    • Implement space allocation, indexing, and partitioning strategies to improve efficiency.

    • Manage database security, user access controls, and auditing.

    • Automate tasks using Unix shell scripts and Python.

    • Lead backup & recovery strategies using NetBackup and ARCMAIN.

    • Collaborate with development teams to improve SQL performance.

    • Migrate on-prem Teradata workloads to cloud-based environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) on DB2.

    • Advance knowledge of DB2 database architecture, features, and utilities.

    • Strong knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery solutions for DB2 databases.

    • Experience in Programming Languages (Java/Python etc.)

    • Experience with database replication, data migration, and data integration tools.

    • Familiarity with database automation and scripting languages for task automation (e.g., Shell scripting, Python).

    • Teradata SQL Assistant, BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPT

    • Teradata Viewpoint, Teradata Administrator

    Performance Tuning & Optimization

    • Query Optimization & Explain Plans

    • Indexing Strategies (Join, Hash, Primary, and Secondary Indexes)

    • Partitioned Primary Index (PPI) Implementation

    Database Administration

    • Capacity Planning & Space Management

    • Backup & Recovery (BAR), NetBackup, ARCMAIN

    • User Security & Access Control

    ETL & Scripting

    • Informatica, DataStage, Talend

    • UNIX/Linux Shell Scripting, Python, Perl

    Preferred technical and professional experience

    • Experience with database performance benchmarking and capacity planning.

    • Knowledge of database regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

    • Experience with other database platforms and technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server,DB2).

    • Understanding of DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.

    • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools.

    • Good exposure to Programming Languages and AI concept

    • Knowledge of Red Hat Open Shift

    • Teradata Certified Professional (TCPP) - [Year]

    • AWS/GCP/Azure Cloud Certification (if applicable)
