Your role and responsibilities

IBM Cloud is looking for early and mid-career user experience designers in Budapest.

As a user experience designer at IBM Cloud, you will create human-centered experiences by designing the structural and informational foundation for products, services, and systems. You will facilitate the delivery of all elements, interactions, and decisions that add value to the total user experience of IBM Cloud products. In this role you'll join IBM Studios Budapest, a local team of 30 designers and researchers committed to helping each other do great work. Our teams work in a hybrid environment, that is, you will be expected to spend some time in the office to collaborate with local team mates, learn from each other, and be part of an engaged design community.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Translate actionable insights from the design research team into low and high fidelity mockups, patterns, prototypes and development-ready specifications

• Design the information architecture, interactions, content, and navigation throughout the product experience

• Leverage IBM's well-established design systems to create consistent and delightful experiences for our customers

• Work with researchers to test concepts with users and integrate findings into the design direction

Collaborate with a wide variety of people (researchers, designers, developers, product managers, business stakeholders, etc.) to create valuable product experiences while using agile methodologies

Required education

High School Diploma/GED

Required technical and professional expertise

• Strong communication and storytelling skills in English

• Experience in solving complex user problems through user interface design, by creating mockups and prototypes that provide a usable, effective, and efficient experience to users

• Solid understanding of fundamental design principles (typography, layout, grid systems, hierarchy, color, composition)

• Creative problem solving and analytical skills

• Experience with industry standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Suite, etc.

• A portfolio of previous work must be presented incorporating UI designs and/or sketches that demonstrate an understanding of wireframing, interaction design and design best practices

Preferred technical and professional experience

• 1-4 years of experience in a UX design or related role

• Experience and familiarity with design systems and accessibility standards

• Solid understanding of Cloud technology and AI

• Experience in Design Thinking methods and framework

• Experience working in agile software development teams

• Experience with data driven design
