Salary Range Tokyo 9,610,000 - 13,930,000 JPY per year Your Job As a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer on this team you will be responsible for implementing automation strategy on your team and working with and mentoring Software and other QA Engineers on increasing and maintaining your team’s test automation. Along with Product and Software Developers you will be a subject matter expert on the products, services, and systems we test and build. You will have opportunities and challenges to grow your quality engineering skill-set at Indeed by assessing functional, usability, compatibility, performance, security, and accessibility testing. Your expertise will be used to test across various countries, languages, and applications and you will help influence how your product team works on a day-to-day basis. You can expect: A dedicated mentor A Quality Assurance Engineering Manager who partners with you in your career growth To be a valued and respected member on a collaborative development team Your day to day: Oversee and plan the automation test strategy and implement automated test suites for a specific set of product and services Contribute to the design, development and use of automation frameworks, infrastructure, and various tools to effectively test products and speak up at any point in the engineering process. Find scalable ways to make hard-to-test features more testable and automated for QA. Understand the inner workings of technologies and influence and refactor the development codebase for testability, API, performance, security, accessibility, and usability. Maintain and evaluate automated test suites day to day, report problems you encountered and lobby for having problems solved. Use a test-driven approach and leverage Push-on-Green CI/CD into the development life cycle. Set a high standard and want to see the impact of your automation work influencing and making a different engineering velocity every day. This role is currently only open to candidates who are residing in Japan and who possess relevant work authorization to work in Japan. However, we are open to candidates with relevant work authorization to work remotely from countries where Indeed has legal entities within APAC, such as Singapore, India and Australia. This role does not qualify for sponsorship or relocation support. Who You Are 4+ years experience with all phases of software testing including test planning, functional testing, regression testing, and designing test architecture Experience with test framework development, and web application testing, particularly including service layer, and back-end API testing Experience with working in a Agile environment and CI/CD driven testing methodology Demonstrated programming skills in Java, Python, Javascript or related object-oriented languages Prior success as an individual QA Automation Engineer embedded within a product team Experience testing API and database levels of a product or application B.S. in Computer Science or related area, or relevant work experience About You Demonstrated programming skills in Java, Python, Javascript or related object-oriented languages Experience with CI tools like Jenkins and have experience using Git Have experience with various database and be familiar with SQL Able to debug, analyze and work independently Understand the value derived from shipping code rapidly to production and learning/iterating on the results Experience on data analysis and data processing Knowledge with Kafka and Kubernetes Experience with AWS cloud computing Familiar with Unix commands Have experience as a Software Design Engineer in Test (SDET) is a plus Who We Are We are a rapidly growing and highly-capable Engineering organization building the most popular job site on the planet.
