Staff Software Engineer - Instant Match Team (full stack)

Salary Range Seattle 184,000 - 266,000 USD per year Your Job This Staff Software Engineer will join Indeed’s Instant Match Team which operates within our SMB organization. Work can be 100% remote. The Instant Match feature is utilized by the millions of employers that sponsor jobs and advertise their job postings on Indeed. Instant Match utilizes Machine Learning and advanced algorithms to quickly match qualified job seekers to specific job postings by identifying similarities in resumes and job descriptions. The position entails full stack software engineering with an almost even split between front-end and back-end responsibility. Strong engineers who get excited about diving into new tech stacks are encouraged to apply, and those with hands-on experience in React, Javascript, Java, and/or Kotlin (for back-end server side programming) are desired. You will lead mid-sized teams that have an enormous amount of internal support to grow and scale Instant Match’s ability to simplify the process of helping people get jobs. You will work closely with the Manager of Software Engineering to lead multiple SWE teams, make design and architecture decisions, lead code review sessions, and lead by example through your expertise and coding ability. Who You Are 7+ years of experience programming with any of the following: Modern Javascript Frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, etc.), ES5/6 Javascript, Java, Python, Kotlin (for back-end server side programming). Ability to make a strong impact across the stack and take on front-end and back-end responsibility. Ability to fully own and execute projects and new feature deliverables. Experience leading teams of less experienced engineers and leading code review sessions. Actively contribute to architecture and design decisions. Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or similar field. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
