Salary Range Austin 93,000 - 135,000 USD per year Your Job Indeed has a simple mission: help people get jobs. The Indeed Incubator is a product accelerator charged with pioneering new product ideas; we do everything, including assessing viability, launching MVP, iterating, and scaling our products. Incubator combines the best of startups (0-to-1 product development with agile teams) with best of big-tech (access to resources, active user base, job security, and career progression). The Incubator is seeking an experienced and versatile UX Researcher to lead and support a number of research initiatives. This role is part individual researcher, part mentor, and part visionary. As a UX Researcher you will recommend, design, and execute research to understand user needs, synthesize findings, and collaborate with cross fractionational teams to create effective and usable software. You will also be responsible for collaborating closely with UX Designers to advise and support on their research projects. Lastly, this role will help Incubator Leadership and Product Managers gather the necessary inputs to inform ideations and strategy efforts for new products. We are looking for an experienced qualitative or mixed-methods UX Researcher who can help deeply understand our user’s needs and translate those into improved experiences. Partner with product, design, and engineering to influence the vision that drives our product development Develop and deliver impactful research that informs decisions across the product lifecycle Identify the best research approaches to get the right answers based on research questions, timing, and resources Collaborate with other Indeed research teams to leverage existing data wherever possible Synthesize research findings into actionable insights and recommendations that your partners can act upon Manage relationships with research vendors to help execute multiple lines of research Mentor and coach designers on research practices Incubator Principles: Love the problem, not the solution. Try hard to focus on the problem or opportunity, don't fall in love with your design / implementation. Talk and listen to real people. We need to validate that we're working on a real problem, and that we're designing the right solution. Get started, then get better. When in doubt, try something and iterate on it. Error on the side of making mistakes rather than listening to inner or outer critics. Failure is an option and expected most of the time. Some of the work we do will fail. If we're not failing, we're not being bold or risky enough. Failures turn into future learnings. Fight the resistance. Barriers are part of the natural order of the universe. External and Internal. Recognize them, and fight them. Who You Are 4+ years autonomously conducting research for software/web based products with demonstrated impact on the products you worked on Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience Choose the optimal methodology from a mixed-methods research toolkit for each insights activity… and if an existing research method doesn’t achieve this goal, you know how to invent your own research method! You can be scrappy and know how to Balance speed with the appropriate level of depth to deliver meaningful insights quickly Demonstrates strong analytical and synthesis skills with a proven ability to turn research results into consumable and sticky product insights Who We Are We are a fast-moving, data-driven UX team building the most popular job site on the planet.
