Lead Scala Developer

Infosys is seeking Lead Scala Developer

In the role of Scala Lead, you will interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition and Design. You will play an important role in creating the high-level design artifacts. You will also deliver high quality code deliverables for a module, lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty. Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Pennington, NJ, Jersey City, NJ, Newark, DE, Dallas, TX, Richardson, TX, Plano, TX or Charlotte, NC. 
Candidate can initially work remotely from any locations within the US and be willing to relocate to any of the above locations within 8 weeks of joining.

This position may require travel to project locations.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.

• At least 4 years of experience in Information Technology.

• Experience in software development using Scala.

Preferred Skills

• At least 5+ years’ experience in software development using Scala development.

• Functional programming experience primarily in Scala; Java, Haskell would be a plus. Passion to develop in Scala.

• Experienced developer ideally within financial industry

• Experience in building high-throughput, fault tolerant systems.

• Experience in working with low latency middleware and messaging platforms and associate design patterns.

• TDD/BDD experience

• Knowledge of event sourcing design patterns

• Relational and Object DB knowledge

• Modelling with DDD practice will be a plus.

• Experience with Cats / ScalaZ would be a plus.

• Experience with design and development of enterprise applications, preferably in high transaction environment 

• Experience with QA and release management

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
