Infosys – Legal – Senior Corporate Counsel – U.S. Immigration Law

Infosys Limited, a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting with more than 335,000 employees globally, is seeking an experienced immigration counsel to join the Americas Employment Law Team. If you have a strong background in U.S. business and employment-based immigration law and are ready to put your strengths to work in a fast-paced, in-house legal environment, then this may be the opportunity for you.

In the Senior Corporate Counsel—U.S. Immigration Law position, you would be an integral part of the Infosys Legal Team and primarily responsible for all immigration-related inquiries to support Infosys’s immigration practices and policies. This includes partnering with and advising stakeholders, including an international Global Immigration team, human resources, and senior management, on all aspects of an employee’s immigration journey and the corporation’s immigration strategy.  A key function of the role will be resolving complex legal issues, developing and implementing strategic solutions, and related risk management. You will also assist in monitoring the corporation’s compliance with immigration law and regulations, continuously strengthening compliance practices, and overseeing internal auditing and reporting. In addition to day-to-day immigration counseling, you would manage external counsel on immigration-related matters, partner with government affairs on immigration policy initiatives, and overall serve as the go-to U.S. immigration subject matter expert and partner.

You will join a supportive Americas Employment Legal Team and greater global Infosys Legal Team that is committed to seeing you succeed in an environment of sophisticated legal work. Opportunities for cross-training on employment legal matters will be available.

Preferred location for this position can be Richardson, Texas; Indianapolis, Indiana; Chicago, Illinois; or the greater Washington D.C. area. Position will have long-term remote-working options within the listed locations.

    Qualifications:
    Basic:

    • Juris doctorate degree and a member in good standing with the applicable state bar
    • 8+ years of overall dedicated immigration law experience in a law firm and/or in-house position
    • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. business and employment visa-related immigration laws, regulations, and procedures
    • Excellent analytical oral and written communication skills
    • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
    • Commitment to teamwork and a collaborative work environment, including the ability to work effectively within a geographically distributed global team.
    • Experience with immigration enforcement matters
    • U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and those lawfully authorized to work in the U.S. are encouraged to apply.  Infosys will not sponsor work authorization for this position.

    Preferred:

    • Experience in advising stakeholders regarding the interplay of immigration and employment law compliance
    • In-house experience working with global organizations with a significant U.S.-inbound visa volume
    • Passion for process improvement to collaboratively partner with existing units to continually seek best-in-class practices and compliance
    • An interest in or experience with non-U.S. immigration regulations to support a larger segment of the organization
