The Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Reliability Engineer is responsible for maintaining the electrical and instrument equipment at the DeRidder, LA. Performance Chemicals Plant. The position requires experience with industrial electrical power supply, distribution equipment, control systems (PLC and DCS), field instrumentation and wiring, Mechanical integrity, and Process Safety Management. The individual will provide support to maintain and improve the reliability of systems in the facility including data gathering, failure analysis, troubleshooting, and development of preventive maintenance procedures.
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT INGEVITY:
- Design, specify, and troubleshoot industrial electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Hands-on process troubleshooting in chemical plant environment.
- Provide technical support to plant Engineering team and I&E maintenance personnel for day to day operations, outages, and projects.
- Develop procedures, revise existing procedures, training, and record keeping.
- Coordinate efforts in reviewing breakdowns and failures with the intention of eliminating root causes of the failures.
- Improve reliability of electrical and instrumentation, reducing cost, and optimizing run time.
- Identify, develop, and improve maintenance programs and systems (PM and PdM).
- Actively participate in safety programs at the facility.
- Collect and analyze site reliability performance data.
- Identify, improve, and update spare parts list.
- Establish and maintain technical resources.
- Establish and lead teams related to equipment improvement related to electrical and instrumentation opportunities.
- Generate CMMS reports as need to perform reliability analysis, including MTBF, on selected equipment.
- Scope and execute capital projects related to electrical and instrumentation.
- Maintain the plants electrical distribution system and infrastructure.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial experience or an additional 3 years of relevant industrial experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial experience in manufacturing environment
- Good planning, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in DC/PLC, VFD, HART communication, calibration and repair instrumentation, analyzer calibration, and burner management controls.
- Knowledge of technical and manufacturing equipment specifications.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of SAP is desired.
- Strong safety and environmental mind set.
- Strong knowledge of local and national electrical codes, including NFPA 70E.
- Knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles.
- Knowledge of I&E drawings including electrical schematics, logic diagrams and P&I diagrams.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
